Hebrew-English Scriptures
Learn about the Hebrew-English Scriptures I am making available through my ministry with The Friends of Israel, along with resources to help Christians engage thoughtfully and respectfully with Jewish friends and neighbors.
Making the Scriptures Available
I am partnering with churches and individuals to make Hebrew-English editions of the Old and New Testaments available at no cost to Jewish people who are interested in receiving them. These editions allow readers to encounter the biblical text in both Hebrew and English and provide a natural starting point for reading and discussing the Scriptures together.
Why Hebrew-English Scriptures?
The Hebrew Scriptures stand at the center of Jewish history, identity, and faith, yet many people have never had an opportunity to read the biblical text for themselves in a Hebrew-English edition. Providing the Scriptures in both languages allows readers to engage directly with the text while also making it accessible to those who are more comfortable reading English.
For Churches
Churches can participate by helping make these Scriptures available through existing friendships and community relationships. I also provide teaching and practical guidance to help believers understand the Jewish context of Scripture and engage their Jewish friends and neighbors with sensitivity, respect, and genuine care.
Sharing with a Jewish Friend or Neighbor
Meaningful conversations about Scripture are best grounded in friendship, respect, and a willingness to listen. These resources are intended to help Christians share the Scriptures naturally within existing relationships rather than treating people as projects or approaching conversations with pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are these Scriptures for?
These Hebrew-English editions are available for Jewish individuals who are interested in receiving and reading the Scriptures for themselves.
Is there a cost?
No. The Scriptures are provided at no cost.
What does the edition include?
The edition includes both the Old and New Testaments in Hebrew and English, allowing readers to compare the text in both languages.
Do I need to be part of a church program to receive one?
No. The Scriptures can be shared through personal relationships, church connections, or other ministry opportunities.
How should I offer one to a Jewish friend or neighbor?
Offer it naturally and respectfully, without pressure. A simple explanation that you have a Hebrew-English edition available and thought they might be interested is usually sufficient. The goal is to make the Scriptures available and allow the other person to decide whether they would like to receive one.
