About Brian Overholtzer
I am a Bible teacher, writer, and Field Ministries Representative serving with The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. My ministry focuses on helping Christians understand the Messiah in the Old Testament, God’s continuing plan for Israel, and the importance of informed love and respect for the Jewish people.
Ministry and Calling
Through The Friends of Israel, I serve churches and individuals through biblical teaching, ministry resources, speaking, and Israel-related education. I also seek to build respectful relationships with Jewish individuals and communities while helping Christians better understand the Jewish roots of their faith and God’s enduring purposes for Israel.
Biblical Training and Experience
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Languages from The Master’s University and both a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology in Old Testament studies from The Master’s Seminary. Before joining The Friends of Israel, I served in church ministry and taught Bible and theology in Christian education. My academic work focuses especially on the Messiah in the Old Testament, the book of Psalms, and the relationship between Israel and biblical prophecy.
Writing and Teaching
My writing and teaching seek to make careful biblical scholarship accessible and useful to the church. Through articles, conference presentations, church events, and the Messiah in the Old Testament podcast, I explore how the Old Testament points to the Messiah and how the biblical promises concerning Israel shape Christian faith and ministry.
